  • frame by frame effect with FCP or AE (twixtor?)

    Hello
while editing in FCP I noticed that one of my scenes looks great when I move the playhead on frame at a time… it gives it a nice slow motion effect but in a very stepped “I can see every frame” manner.

how would I go about doing this within AE (cs5) or in FCP?

I have played around with Twixtor.
and the slowmo looks good for slowmo but not the desired effect.
then I tried Twixtor for adjusting frame rate (from 24p -4) and that sorta worked but it was still
not what I was going for

    any suggestions?
    thanks

how about just time stretch (layer>time>time stretch, or right-click in the column headers in the timeline and choose columns>time stretch).

a value of 200% will hold each frame for 2 frames, 500% would hold each for 5 frames, etc…
