“In the blink of an eye” question
In Walter Murch’s “In the blink of an eye” (page 75), when talking about the art of editing in the first quarter of the twentieth century he says ” The knowledge that the distance from the tip of one’s nose to the fingers of the outstretched hand represented about three seconds”. Can someone please clarify what does this mean?
PS: I am a film student wanting to specialize in editing.
Thanks.
