  Masking Beam Effect

  Hello, I have a beam that I created from a solid and effect > beam and it shoots out of my eyes, but it passes through my arm as it shoots out, so I want to mask the beam when it passes through my arm. When I try to draw a mask on the beam on mask mode: add, the mask only covers a tiny part of the beam that I didn’t want to mask. I think it has to do with the fact that I’m trying to mask a comp. size solid…

  You’re right. It does have to do with the mask. Masking occurs before effects so, you must precompose before you apply masks if you want them to properly effect a layer.
