Awesome to think that these days a 7 year old can have access to Avid.

I consider myself lucky that my high school was one of the first places in south Orange County to have an Avid and I got to start to tinker with it at 15 years old I know alot of my peers didn’t get to touch one till much much later.

I remember when Avid was the gold standard of non-linear editing and I loved working on it because once you mastered the intricacies of it there simply was no other system that worked so efficiently.

Sadly, that feels like a hundred years ago.

    [Oliver Peters] “Couldn’t resist.”

So are you aspiring to be a 7 year old? I mean, that’s aspirational marketing, right?

I am not buying it that this magical seven year old did all this great work without a heavy infusion of effort on her editor father. It makes a cute story though. Even setting up an Avid Account with iLok and all the fun that is can be confounding.

Appears 7 is the new 15.

It’s 2018 and Warhol’s 15 minutes of fame is now 3 minutes – cuz DIGITAL!

(Time to get ahead of the game start your careful search for crows feet on Zendaya, ASAP!)

Regardless of how much help she may or may not have received, it’s clear that we are all slackers by comparison ☺

True, but setting up Media Composer | First is easier than that.

    Here’s one for FCPX

This was given the best doco award at the recent My State Student Film Awards. Directed, partly shot and completely edited by an 8 year old. It’s her first film and yes her mum is a film maker (usually horror comedy not doco). She did get some help with filming but totally told her mum what to shoot.

Here in Phoenix, we used to have an elephant at the zoo that gained some fame as a fine artist.
