Not specifically related to Adobe – but I remember years ago installing Ghostery off the Apple Safari Plug-ins site and being totally shocked at the sheer number of bots and trackers it was blocking as I navigated the ‘net.

Make no mistake, on the internet – YOU are the product.

This is pretty much *every* modern website today and every app at least potentially. Is this really news to anyone?

Yeah, I think this is news that websites log all of your credit card and other info per keystroke before the information is submitted or transferred.

Which is why all my browsers on all my devices use this:

    https://adguard.com

Whitelist the sites you want to support, and the rest can go pound sand. Added bonus – the web actually works again, especially on mobile.

    I hope you’re whitelisting us! ????

For the record, the only thing we do with cookies is allow you to set your site preferences. We don’t set any other cookies of our own, do no other tracking, and share data with nobody.

My experience with the Cow, confirmed this.

During my site use, there are only 3 bots Ghostery shows – Google Analytics, Quantcast, and TypeKit by Adobe. – all three of which it gives me the option to block or not – without any impediment to site use. So this place has an impressive user tracking “clean” bill of health, IMO.

the web is now doing active battle against the adblockers. I’m finding more and more sites that lock access to their pages until adblocking is turned off.

No question this is the era of battle for the soul of the internet.

The number, size, restrictions and annoyance of the “culture of billboards” adjacent to the information superhighways -will have a major impact on our lives.

Whether the internet will remain more like the Pacific Coast Highway – a nice drive accessible to anyone equally – or the ad-awash Las Vegas Strip – or a prettier, but privatized toll road – is something facing a HUGE challenge this very month.

Fingers crossed and congressional snail/email addresses at the ready!

Every time I look at a new camera on B&H (which is frequently) , an add for it jumps up on my Facebook page within a few minutes. At least it isn’t fake news from a Russian Bot.
