June 5, 2017 at 9:57 amGreat tip thanks!
I find it fun that these little apps that support FCPX are helping with workflows that were common near the end of FCP legacy.
It reminds me of the early 90s when apps didn’t talk to each other and we all had these crazy workarounds that made it fun to discover or learn.Just feeling nostalgic 🙂

May 6, 2018 at 11:47 pmI know this is an old post but did they break this during the upgrade?
I can’t seem to figure out how to use frame io as an export option from the timeline.
I want to export individual clips using the technique posted here. -

If you have FCPX 10.4.2, you need to update to frame.io v2 (via App Store).
There is an option to install the Share Destinations in to FCPX.
If you have already done all of this, then use a share destination, set your settings for encoding, and click Export.
You get the resulting dialogue box, be sure to click “Clips” at the top.
Similar process, different look.
Here’s a picture:

May 7, 2018 at 3:21 amYes, I tried that and all my tests from a timeline exports out as one single clip.
Thanks for replying 🙂

Hmm. I just did this the other day and it worked.
Maybe the latest update is broken?

May 7, 2018 at 2:41 pmIt’s the same tech behind primaries exporter – do you have that?

May 8, 2018 at 1:35 amDid some short/non-extensive testing today.
I exported from another machine and it worked, the XML that was exported was v1.7.
On another machine, the version of XML exported was v1.8. That version did not work.
Not sure how to force frame.io to use v1.7.

I raised this issue with frame.io
Do you happen to have a Smart Collection that gathers 360 videos?
If so, delete it and try again.

I’ll check but I don’t use anything with 360.

May 14, 2018 at 6:47 pmThis would be a library level smart collection.
I also think stereo/monoscopic causes it to fail as well.
If not, hit the chat icon on frame.io and someone will respond. They will want to see an XML.
I had a 360 collection, and deleting that made it all OK.
