November 5, 2016 at 5:44 pmAbsolutely agree with the article. While I generally like the new MBP and like unifying with an interface that supports anything from TB3 speeds down to lowly USB2, the mess of adaptors is an accident waiting to happen.
While the adaptors are unavoidable, given the price of the new MBP, they should include one of each or a dock with each. The moment one goes missing during a job… too much at stake.

November 5, 2016 at 10:09 pmI can’t help but think that every MacBook sold actually needs a top quality belkin style hub that goes from thunderbolt 3, to thunderbolt 2, USB 3, HDMI, SD card, compact flash, mini jack and perhaps even cat5. How many times I end up working from mains with a thunderbolt raid, Red minimag reader on USB3, external audio transferring via the SD reader and my phone charging on the other port is countless. I really don’t want 4 adaptors for each item. If Apple sold the hub but reflected this in their prices so that you could purchase the hub for a small amount extra this would be really cool.

” top quality belkin style hub ”that’s like saying Large Shrimp. You don’t get crappier quality then Belkin.
