I’ve got a feeling it’s more than MacBooks, as Jeremy pointed out, using “hello” is a big thing in Apple lore and they surely wouldn’t use it just for updated laptops?

Maybe, but the MBP hasn’t been updated since 2012 so it certainly would be a “hello again” in that case. Hopefully a new X update and maybe a preview of the new nMP that people are hoping will come out next year?
