Um yeah. What are your plans if Apple decides to axe Final Cut Pro as we know it? What software would you migrate to?
Please, for my sanity, leave out the toll road (subscription only) payment plan part. 😉 If, on the other hand, X gets a beefy update, what would you like to see?

FFS, they’re not “axing” FCP X. Calm down. 🙂

Apple showed some exciting new stuff to the public at an NDA presentation during the FCP eXchange event at NAB. Stay tuned…

Apple quite happily tell us what’s months away in OSX and iOS releases, why on earth can’t they tell us about FCPX?

Not sure why there is this constant chime that
‘Apple might axe FCP X’. It’s not going to happen.
The next release has been previewed already at NAB and
we will get it later this fall. I mean we can play ‘what if’
all day, but it’s kind of silly. What if Adobe raises rent to
$100 per month or $200? What will Adobe users do then?
My current version of FCP X will keep working. For that
matter, I have CS6 and FCP 7 around as well. Not to mention
Resolve. I’d make do without having to be forced on the rental
train. I have always been a ‘slow updater’ anyways….I’m one of the
reasons Adobe had to go CC in the first place…..I totally skipped updates,
sometimes staying with the same ‘old’ NLE version for longer than
    *gasp* a whole year!

I have never posted negatives about FCPX since its release.
Even though it failed in so many ways for others.
However this time around I think they should fix a few things before making it bloatware.
Current doc Im dealing with crashes on AVCHD files converted to ProRes422.
I never crash on full feature R3Ds like this why on short form docs I dont know.
    Running on nMP D500@16GB maybe?

Why are you converting formats anyway?

I regularly edit Long Form Episodic TV episodes in FCPX with more than a 1000 clips from a variety of formats including XDCAM HD422, AVCHD, GoPro, XAVC HD (Sony F5 & FS7)… without needing to transcode?

Echoing Dean, why are you converting? I am dealing with AVCHD files on a 3 year old laptop every day with no issues. Is the conversion for downstream workflow issues?
