I know as an NLE BMD are playing catchup with Resolve but If only Apple were adding features to FCPX that fast (Cue Robin to tell us that they are)

I think this is the best update to Resolve that I haver seen! I was hoping for a role based approach not tracks. Improvements to tne node graph are very nice and able to track lens flares. Even releasing a new update at NAB is awseome.
Weird thing that happened was that I was thinking when the Automatic Duck announcement was made was, “It would sure be nice if there was integration between Resolve and Fusion, would love to see that!” Well so it came to be, just got an e-mail just a few minutes later. Well by thunder this looks like it could be an alternative to the Adobe parade. Time will tell and was happy to download the beta today.
Apple, where is the update for your editing software?

I would wish Resolve would become a good basic editor (if it can) before adding more effects and such to it. At least for me, the performance is so terrible that it is a complete non-starter. Plus, it has tracks.

I think if you’re only looking at Resolve as a replacement NLE, then disappointment is sure to follow.
If you just take a look at all the other utterly amazing things it offers, and the potential it is showing, then it’s impossible not to be excited.
And if this is only a point release, what can we possibly expect next!?

I loathe tracks! They seem so last century. For me the debate of FCP X is over. We need a new name like FCP X: That’s what I’m talking about!

Well, I can say that the beta version of 12.5 is a far sight better in terms of basic editing performance. Having volume permissions problems all over the place that I did not have on R11, but I am liking what I see so far. Not as good as X but starting to remind me of DS a bit.
