LOL. I was helping my son shoot some pick-up shots for his high-school noir type short film, and we came up with several shots that we did this way. Like all good ideas, someone has finally run with it, full-on! Very funny “Making of” comments: “Hitchcock, Kubrick, Welles … none of these guys tried to shoot with a Prius back-up cam.” 🙂

Time for a close-up shot! With me as one with the pavement? Oh hell no!
Looking for a good backup camera? Get a car that has one!
Time to get a reverse shot.
How does the shot look? Great! What was that noise? Oh crap, I just ran over a traffic sign.

Disclaimer: Remember kids, they are “professional” so please don’t try this at home. Your insurance company will thank you.

    Loved this! Absolute genius! 🙂

Just wondering how the footage from a backup camera on a Ford Fusion would intercut with it. 😉

Canon XF-300, Canon 5DMkIII, Canon 7D MkII, Avid Media Composer 7.05, Adobe CC 2015, iMovie Pro.

That shouldn’t be an issue, but I wonder whether the NLE software on the Prius dashboard is superior to that on the Ford? I think the Ford NLE has tracks…

I have heard that Blackmagic is buying Telsa to acquire their backup cam technology.
