    Hi

    My problem is:
I did this “really cool” vector image inside ae, 2 layers and around 6 shapes inside then. Then I’ve set a camera, really close to the image. In the first frames it’s a real intense zoom, then it gets quickly out showing the whole thing.

What I believe it’s going on is that a.e. is rendering all the vectors, even when the camera is very close and most of the work is outside the view of the camera. So after must be rendering some very huge images on those first frames.

Is there away to avoid that? to make after render only what’s on the camera view ?

    Thanks very much in forward.

from the “Region of interest” section of After Effects Help:

“To create the equivalent of a region of interest for a single layer, you can draw a temporary mask around the part of the layer that you are working with. The area outside of the mask will not be rendered. This can make working with a small portion of a large layer much faster. Be careful, though, since not rendering the pixels outside of the mask can change the composition’s appearance significantly.”

So, try masking out part of your layer when the camera is zoomed in close. Remember, you can animate mask paths, so you could have the mask size change to suit the camera frame.
