Hello, I have been having strange problems with AE CS3 these past couple of days. The problem started when I tried importing some video footage into AE, when I created a new composition the footage came out upside down, had lines running through it, and was a purple-blueish color. I am not sure why this is happening but I believe it is being caused by a missing codec, this is because when I rendered the footage in Sony Vegas, I used the Cineform HD video codec. I recently uninstalled AE 7, while uninstalling it may have accidentally uninstalled the codec. I always render in .avi and other footage, not using the cineform codec, work perfectly. If anyone has any clues to what is going on that would be a great help, I am really getting annoyed by this problem. I mean I have the Cineform HD Codec (version 3.2.2) installed on Sony Vegas but am not sure why AE is not reading the footage. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thank you!

there may have been an importer plugin for ae to use/import the cineform files. it may have been installed for ae7 when you installed the cineform codec. i would try re-installing the codec, or check on their website for troubleshooting tips with cs3, there may be a known bug or workaround.
