  playback fps in AE

  Hello,

  I’m having a problem with a project in AE. I have gone into Composition>Composition Settings and have set my frame rate to 29.97 (same as the original file). I have completed the effect that I needed to apply to the file (a tracking circle for a law firm case), but when I press play in the “Time Control” panel it plays it anywhere between 15.1 and 15.7 fps (fluctuating randomly).

  This is what appears in the “Info” panel in red font:

  fps: 15.3/29.97 (NOT realtime)

  I’m sure there is something simple to this, but I would certainly appreciate the help,

  In the time control panel, you’re looking for the *RAM Preview* button, not the *play* button. I believe it is all the way to the right. Keyboard shortcut is *ZERO* on the KEYPAD.

  and I see where my error was in the message. I forgot to mention that I rendered the file, and when I play it back (windows media) it appears to be in slow motion. The file itself has a time code on it (from the surveillance camera), and it goes out of sync rather quickly (ie: after about 20 seconds, only 17 or so have transcurred in the video).

  I’d appreciate any help you can give me on this.
