I would have figured that I would have found a post in the archives about this but I couldn’t find one. I am opening up an older project back in the days when I was using toner under the Final Effects banner. I am now running After Effects 6.5 and that filter is included with the free Cycore Effects. I am trying to open the old project and it it looking for the missing effect. Is there any way I can “globally” change this effect. I used it in a lot of different comps and it will take me a while to change them all. Seems there might be an easier way. Any thoughts?

I think I once opened a .aep file in BBedit and did a global search and replace…
Only works when the new filter’s name has exactly the same amount of letters, and ofcourse exactly the same parameters.

Luckily with FE -> CC this is usually the case, there were one or two filters that don’t work though, because the name had changed in length.

needless to say: backup your file before you try something like that.
