    The Psunami and Aurora Water 3rd party plugins do a very good job. Without these, it’s a lot of tweaks that may or may not work. If it’s an important job, I suggest giving these plguins a shot. They do look very good.

    I asked this question some time ago…there is a Cow tutorial using the caustic effect….not real simple as I recall.

    Yup that’s Jim Tierney’s COW Tutorial using Caustics and Waveworld. It does a very convincing swimming scene. But for an ocean/sea thingy, the atmospherics will be a difficult task to replicate. Perhaps fog and/or Fractal Noise+Compound Blur may help in that area but it’s a lot of tweaks with no real guarantee on the final result.
