Hello. I am using NTSC DV footage on FCP 6.0.4 and AE CS3. Whenever I make a movie in AE and put it into FCP, I get this ‘tracer’ effect. It also doesn’t look as sharp as my original footage. What I’m doing is stabilizing my footage because rotating in FCP is a disater. I’ve tried rendering the comp several different ways, but it all comes out the same. I’m not new to AE, but I am to FCP.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Tony West

It looks like, for example, when someone’s arm is moving they have trails, like there are a lot of arms there.

You know… anytime I make a project in AE that is completely graphics based, it looks great, but anytime I use footage I’ve shot, the outcome looks like crap once I transfer it to FCP. I need to read up on exporting files.

Dave, you’re batting 1.000 with me (you’ve been my savior twice before). I’m a total newbie to FCP and yes, my computer monitor was playing tricks on me. I took the video into the control room and looked on our video monitors and it looked fantastic.
    Thanks again.
