  Video and sound

  Hi,
  I´m totally new to after effects and I´m gonna make a video/composition 720 x 576. I have a digital camera to film my clips. But what size should I use when filming? I tried with 640 x 480 but I´m not sure if that is right?? And is there a way to delete all sounds from the clips when I´m in after effects? I want to put other sound effects to the video. I tried to turn of sounds in my camera when filming, but when I´m in after effects with the clip it is sound there anyway and it is a bit noisy. I want clips without sound.

  How can I do this?, I will appreciate advices with this..
