  Problems with green screen – no green in the background

  Hi, I want to use my crappy Aiptek A-HD+ camera for shooting a music video.
  There will be a lot of green screen editing in that video.

  Unfortunately, for some reason, I can’t make my A-HD+ catch the green color of the green screen.
  It always catches something that is mor elike of a washed out grey/white color.

  Funny thing is that my cheap Samsung PHOTO camera can catch the green just fine.

  Have a look at the samples below and advice, please.
  What is wrong?
  All the demo clips were shot under a tungsten bulb but it is pretty much the same situation in daylight too.

  I have tried adding a white sheet of paper to the green screen so to kind of adjust the white balance – same crappy results again.

  Its auto white balance can’t be turned off. It only has Auto balance (plus the regular Auto presets – Tungsten, Daylight, ets)

  I’ve tried shooting in the highest resolution – same results.

  It records in H.264

  I do know how to set up a green screen.
  Actually, with that Samsung photo camera, I don’t really have to build a very complicated green screen rig – it gets the green just fine.
  I wish it was the same with that crappy Aiptek.

  I knew it it was the camera. Useless piece of junk.
  It produces good quality video but the control you have over it is Zero.

  I always get green spill. Think this salso depends on the video compression – if the fotasge is too comressed and blyrry, there will be spill around the edges.

  Tracking and masking – too lazy to do that.
  That’s why I need a good green screen btw.

  Garbage mattes – sure, where their use is possible.

  Edge and core mattes? Don’t know what these are.
  If it is about using matte chokers – I do that.

  That edge and core matte technique of keying is pretty interesting.
  I will try to use it.
