Fairly new to AE, mostly used for spot elements thus far but want to use AE for effects/transitional points throughout. These are 30 second to 1 minute commercials with lots of elements. Final Cut is my starting point to draft a timeline since multitude of possible clips to experiment with initially.

If I pull a QT file of the drafted timeline from FCP, I have no extra material to work with for transitional points or time alterations – and AE video will get off sync with the master audio in FCP.

If I rebuild my FCP timeline draft in AE, seems like duplicated work with a large number of short clips involved. And then when I export the QuickTime to Final Cut to finalize audio, I no longer have original audio files to work with.

I haven’t worked with audio in AE to know it’s potential relative to Final Cut. Ideas for an efficient workflow?
