  I am looking to buying Adobe After Effects for the PC(windows). Currently I have Adobe Premier.

  My question is why are some Adobe After Effect Programs $300-$400 and others are $800+? What is the difference? I think they call one educational and the other professional.

  To buy educational (Academic) versions, you need ID to prove that you are in school…..and also these versions are meant to learn on…you should not be making money with Academic versions.

  Last time I checked the Adobe license agreement you can use the educational version to produce commercial work. Which I was surprised to find. Maybe they’ve changed it.

  You still need to be a student to buy it though.
