  help, graphics too crisp on tv

  Hi there, i’m unhappy with my graphics once they’re on tv. they’re too crisp. I’ve tried to solve this by experimenting with different gaussian blur percentages, but am still not satisfied.. maybe i’m too critical.

  I’m wondering what other people out there do once they’ve finished animating to give their piece that finishing touch. Any colour retouches, levels, especially softening the image up.. what percentage? Any tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.

  its possible your colors are above chroma limits for NTSC, if that’s the case, it can create sharp lines, artifacts and line crawl. try a quick test with levels in-out 18-225 instead and compare the results.

  Great! thanks for the reply, i’ve come across another good one. to use a bit of noise to grain the piece up a bit also to feather any sharp lines I have
