  • Is it possible to make a clip longer without changing speed?

    Hi

I did not see this subject in other posts, so i hope i am not repeating.
It is difficult to see thru all the text, as all the subjects are the same colour.

    My question:
I have a 30 sec. motion clip. i need it to be 4 min. i first tried just to copy it one after another in Final Cut, but as it is constantly moving, there was an obvious bump between the copied clips.

Is there a way to do this in After Effects CS3?

    Thanks

Ok, so my lingo is not hip.

Think of my clip as footage of a road and i have 30 sec. of traveling forward on this road.

Want to make it into 4 min. of road footage, without changing the speed or have any bumps in the road i.e. (seemless).

Is this possible with the looping animation you mentioned or another way, and if so can you tell me how to do this in not so many words?

    Not really….

You can try to make some short dissolves… but unless the camera position and speed were tightly controlled… no

If I were to attempt this, this is what I’d do:

Stabilize the motion of my clip. Repeat as needed until the clip is totally stable.

Duplicate my footage as many times as needed on the timeline, with short dissolves between each instance to disguise the fact that we’re joining multiples.

Now, if I needed my footage to be jittery again, I’d shoot four minutes or so handheld of a white dot on a black field and motion track my road footage to it.

    In theory 🙂
