Do I need a Green Screen?
Ok here is a link to something I want to do or test out. The way this was used to my understand was After Effects and Boujou 4.

Now, I do not have Boujou 4, but I do have After Effects and I use it a lot. How can I pull off this effect? Would I need to use a green screen and then just mask out areas I would like to put footage over?
P.S-Again, I’m not sure if this is suppose to be a basic or normal AE question, so please do not get angry if I posted this in the wrong section. Thanks!

The models inside the guy’s face look 3D, a fact which is shown off by the movement of the head, so they would not have been produced in AE. You don’t need a greenscreen, though. The crosses on the guy’s face are for motion tracking, and they’ve been removed digitally in post. You could effect a low-tech version of this in AE, but you be limited to 2D elements so it would be best to mimimise facial movement. Just mask off the portion of the face you want to ‘remove’ and then animate the position of the masked layer.
