I am having a little trouble getting my head around the use of pre-render and its advantages. If I use a pre-render within another pre-render and then final render out that, does that mean the first pre-render has been compress three times, there by degrading the quality?

In other words, as long as I use a lossless codec for the pre-render, I can pre-render to my hearst content, and the final render will not suffer any degradation?
