    Hey guys!

I tried to stabilize a very shaky shot by using AEs motion tracking. It is a dolly shot towards a boy who’s sitting on an bench while several people are passing, some right in front of the camera. Therfore it is unimpossible to find points which don’t get hidden once in a while. Even using different tracking points doesn’t work out, maybe I’m not doin it right, but the image gets all weird and unlocated moving jerky out of frame and things like that. I searched for tutorials, couldn’t find any with that issue. Can you please help me to solve this problem – as soon as possible 🙂 – I’m starting to get desperate.

    Thanks a lot, Jen

    Thanks for the quick response.

Sounds like a lot of work. Well I’ll try it.

In the background of the shot are stairs. I had the idea of just putting some guides to the shot and turn it frame by frame so the stairs fit horizontaly. Do you think that works faster? Or is there another way to use the stairs?

nulls might have to be hand tracked in some difficult parts or even use a new track location and offset new position. other options are virtualdub has a fantastic motion stabilizer, as does Mocha or Monet. but virtudaldub’s is free and has the same options as monet like stabilize zooms, pans, etc.

Where does virtual dub have stabilization functions? is it an add on? i have looked over the documentation, i cannot find anywhere that says it has stabilization functions.

please post a web address, or point out how to use the virtual dub stabilization.
