  AE Hangs On Startup – New Leopard Install

  I have been running the CS3 Production Suite and AE v8.0.2 fine on my system when running Tiger, but after doing a Leopard upgrade, AE hangs on startup, specifically at the step “Scanning Folder: File Formats”.

  I have trashed prefs and even reinstalled the entire suite, and while every other app in the suite launches fine, I have never been able to get AE to startup since the OS upgrade; it always hangs in the same spot. I am running OS 10.5.2 as well as Quicktime v 7.4.5.

  Any thoughts? TIA.

  Not sure if anyone was monitoring this issue, but in the interest of closing the loop, a clean re-install of Leopard fixed the problem.
