I am working on an 60 minute rough cut project to fine tune it and when I open it in FCPX as soon as I touch it with a mouse, I get the spinning beachball and the render menu sticks at “O”. I don’t see any corrupt files or anything and the project was fine when I finished the rough cut.

I cut and pasted the “event” to a new event “timeline” but the same thing occurs.

    Any ideas?
    many thanks

I’d start by deleting your project render files.

Also, any compound clips that originated in 10.0.5?

I’ve run into this before in previous versions. It’s the skimming. Park your cursor close to the top menu. Launch X and before doing anything, go up to the top menu and uncheck skimming. Exit and relaunch. Should be fine and then you can check skimming again. The app is still buggy in some areas.

As a general rule, never update anything before you finish your project.

Thank you all- deleting the project render files seemed to do the trick…for now.
