10.0.6 Event Viewer
Now that I’ve got it back I don’t know how much I missed it but now find it not having a timeline I can scrottle up and down in in that window. But it does feel a lot more like a proper edit system now.

Remember, you couldn’t shuttle/scrub/skim within the unified viewer either prior to this update. It’s only a pass-through from the filmstrip instead of toggling the unified viewer. As such, it’s less than folks expected to see. Apple would benefit by licensing Digital Heaven’s feature of jog/shuttle within the window itself. I think they got that originally from how Avid DS works. Gestural editing – in the editor’s sense of the word, not the iPad version.

No. It’s a feature built into Pro Player and Movie Logger.

JKL I get I just like seeing exactly where the playhead is in terms of frames and seconds and minutes into a clip that’s all.

There’s the flimstrip or clip icons to scrub.
Tun on clip info (control-y) and you’ll have scrubbable timecode in the filmstrip.
This prevents you from going for the viewer, back to the browser, back to the viewer, etc.

How many do you need?
This means if it’s in the Event browser window, you could potentially have scopes, the video window, and controls, and a scrub strip.
What would be nice is if you could scrub the video itself, there’d be no need for another strip.
