  optimum size for animation images without losing quality?

  Hi,

  I am doing an MA in digital art in norwich and im currently making an animation in after effects (its my first time)

  I have drawn A3 backgrounds and scanned them at 300dpi and I have then edited them in photoshop adding layers and bits to animate in after effects

  the size of each image is approx 224mb and 4832×3489 (so somehow they seem bigger than A3 now but i dont really know why)

  so… coming to my question!

  when i import them to AE i find its very slow and has trouble rendering (even though my mac is pretty new and fast)

  I want to show the animation on a flat screen tv or on a projector and it has quite a lot of detail so i guess the image file size needs to be quite big?

  so here is my question! what is a good size for images so that i can show the final animation at a high quality when its finished?

  do you think i can decrease the file size without losing quality so that AE will run a bit better?

  Use the Image Processot scrip tto down convert them to something closer to you rpRHED Pixelback resolution
