I am trying to understand my options of exporting. I have been compressing using xvid codec and saving my files as an avi. But would like to try mpeg-2 format. I have looked all through my trial version (real copy is on the way) of AE CS3 and can not find any were to export as a mpeg-2 or a H.265

When I use the drop down menu in format I am not seeing any mpeg formats at all. so I have been saving as video for windows and under video output I am using a Xvid compress. My file size is great and the video looks good. But would like to know haw to save a file as an mpeg.

    any help would be awesome.

Are you using the Render Queue or are you actually Exporting? You shouldn’t do the latter, always add movies to the Render Queue using either “Add To Render Queue” or “Make Movie” then change the format in the Output Module.
