Microsoft Major Tablet Event?
Apple Insider has an interesting take on next week’s “Major Event” at Microsoft – they infer the announcement of WindowsRT and the continuing public rollout of their ARM based Win8-Tablet strategy.
The line that struck me most was at the very end of the article where he quoted a Wall Street analyst …
“… He believes the general lack of available devices, relative to the sprawling PC market, is being driven by Microsoft, as the Redmond, Wash., software giant aims to maintain tight control over the initial release for quality control purposes.”
Is Redmond moving toward the “we feel that control trumps openness and we’ll only tell you want we want to tell you when we want to tell it to you” space that Apple has lived in for so long?
Is this where all major device manufacturers have to go in the new “all information, everywhere, instantly” era?
