He’s considered a very reliable source.
For those who don’t connect the name, He was a key writer at MacWorld for many years. He’s not the type to say something unless he had a credible source. I don’t think he’d risk his credibility as a writer. Also he’s been accurate in the past when he’s talked about rumors.

And the Apple Store page has been down for 24 hours, with a note saying “We’ll be back. We’re busy updating the Apple Store for you and will be back soon.” Any co-relation?

Reliable source? I’m a reliable source and I’ve been telling you people for months that there will be a new Mac Pro.
I can’t even imagine the amount of time and heartbreak you could all avoid if you just took my word for this.

I’m waiting to throw my money at Cupertino for a new imac, I was all set to buy the largest current one, all maxed-out, but then heard an updated one with the ivy bridge chipset, faster graphics card, and other refinements was just around the corner, so I’ve waited a couple extra months to see if I want the very laetst imac for my home editing station/all-purpose machine, …or the older model, which should drop in price.
