Using 3D images from a 3D app in AE
I have just viewed Andrew Kramer’s tute on the medical zoom Completely awesome, by the way). He has created a 3D cell in a 3D app and brought it into AE. He has explained that although it looks 3D, it doesn’t retain the 3D properties when panning around the object until he changed the particle type to the cell using Trapcode Paticular.
My question; Is there a way to retain 3D properties of an image from a 3D app into AE without using a Particle system? For example. I want to create a 3D character head in a 3D app. When I bring it into AE and pan around it, the “3D” character head becomes flat. I don’t want to generate a particle system for one image. I know that I can animate this inside of the 3D app. But, I would like to add AE animations around it and such. I am not actually creating a character, but just want to know in general. Thank you in advance.
