April 18, 2012 at 1:23 pmMan, props to Prometheus for building hype properly….with well-made content that’s really intriguing….and not just hyperbole/buzzword filled trailers that make a movie seem like it’s different than it actually is (or give away the entire plot in a 2 min spot).

April 18, 2012 at 5:36 pm[Craig Seeman] “”Introducing Siri 2.0 from Apple””
Ha. Yeah, sort of, I guess. Isaac Asimov is doing 3600 RPM in his grave.
What’s missing is “liking “Pina Coladas, and getting caught in the rain.
I’m not much into health food, I am into champagne..” (Rupert Holmes) not Barry Manilow.I can’t wait for the “Zou Besou Besou” internet overdubs.
They couldn’t get Lance Henriksen? or map his younger face a la “Tron”/ Jeff Bridges?
But the whole Ridley Scott re-involvement in the franchise is interesting. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the derelict alien space craft with ominous hieroglyphics…. “makes the world a better place…”, my wife says, but she’s mysterious.

You mean “Old Ben”? Ben Kenobi?

April 18, 2012 at 5:46 pmIs it just me or is Fassbender doing a homage to Douglas Rain?
I’m really looking forward to this film.

April 18, 2012 at 6:46 pmPlease, please pretty please: we actually have a forum for this very topic: the Film History & Appreciation forum.
Like this forum, it was created for one purpose (which you can discern from the name), but quickly morphed into a “what’s playing, what’s coming” forum for TV and movies, as well as discussions about distribution, the moviegoing experience and more.
It’s a great forum, but light on traffic. I’ll be honest: the forum was my idea. I think we’re not only among the most sophisticated media creators, but some of its most sophisticated viewers. (I’d say consumers, but I don’t want to start THAT fight again.)
I’ve always hoped for more traffic there, so help a brother out. You folks can really help stir things up — I’m right about that, right?
And yes, Prometheus has been a hot topic there for a very long time.
So please, please pretty please: pay a visit and speak your piece in the Film History & Appreciation forum, whatever’s on your mind re: film & tv.
Thanks so much,
Tim

Most assuredly, though I’ll guess 95% of those who’ll see this film will not realize it.
