  • Rendering out front view in 3D

Posted by Dream Construction worker on October 13, 2007 at 8:57 am

So I finshed a nice banner animation in 3D and realised when I came to render that I’d been doing all my layout in the front view instead of the camera view. Whoops.

Is it possible to trick after effects into rendering out my final comp from the front view rather than the “camera” view?

If it were possible it would be much easier than messing around trying to re-position everything. Cheers.

Simply add a new camera then play with the lens length etc… I beleive 35mm should be a close match

Thanks, I managed to find another post on this problem in the archive.

The problem is that the front view is orthographic, so objects appear to be the same size no matter where they are in z-space. Somebody suggested moving the camera a long way away and using the zoom setting to zoom all the way in again. This did the trick quite nicely.
