video mon Preview & Comp Mon Preview out of sync

I do and I apologize .. however since it only does it some times I thought it might ring a bell

AMD Dule core 6000
2 GIgs of ram
Nvidia Geforce 7300 GS
Using a sony camcorder for firewire preview

it may be related to the camcorder… it may have a low-power mode that it switches to after being on for a while that may be causing a lag… or it could be something else, i can’t say i’ve noticed a lag using a decklink card and smpte-c monitor.

i’m not sure what you’re gaining by using a camcorder viewer as a monitor… is the set up primarily to lay to tape?

No the camcorder is an interface by which I go Firewire port from my computer to a video monitor. I don’t have a capture card

i still suspect the camera may be to blame, i haven’t heard of any other delay issues using firewire out…
