  Thoughts on reconnecting media?

  Currently we archive on Blu-ray discs of our entire projects. I’m worried that when trying to bring it back into the computer that files will get de-linked. What do you think of the changes and are they helping you?

  Also we have four internal hard drives on the Mac and whenever we archive a project to disc not all the files are getting copied to the folder. What do you recommend?

  What do you mean here. That the files aren’t making it on to the disc?

  Hmm- not sure I’d choose Blu-rays as an archival solution. Isn’t there something better out there with less OS-disc level incompatibilities? Also- what are you using to burn the discs and how are they formatted.

  I’m using Toast Titanium.

  I have a 2TB drive for my videos.

  I have another 2TB drive just for my projects.
  I keep all my graphics, photos and other stuff in the right FCP Events folder.

  I then burn just the Events and Projects folder onto a Blu-Ray disc.

  This is where I found out how hard it is to reconnect media using FCPX. I hope that the new version fixes this.
