I’m trying to superimpose a video clip of a woman talking over a webpage so that the background of the webpage appears behind her.
So I videotaped her against greenscreen, imported the clip into after effects, key’d out the background and exported the clip to flv with the alpha channel option checked.
But when I import the flash movie into the webpage using dreamweaver, the background appears “white” instead of transparent.
Is there a step I am missing
    Here’s what it looks like

Here’s a relevant excerpt from the “About render and export of Flash formats” section of After Effects Help:

“To include the alpha channel in the FLV output, use the On2 VP6 codec and select Encode Alpha Channel in the Video tab of the Adobe Flash Video export settings dialog box.”

Here’s a link to a tutorial in which Bob Donlon walks you through the process of exporting an FLV file.

    Thanks Todd
I went through the articles (one appears to be for AE CS. I have After efects 7)and tried to mimic each step but still end up with a video with a white background instead of a transparent one on final web page
Not sure what might be the problem

    Hi
I found the answer to my question here

The problem was that I needed to import a certain code and css file into my dreamweaver project. Once I copied to correct code, my greenscreen video appeared the way it should on my web page
All you need is after effects to make the flv file with alpha channel…and dreamweaver or any html editing program
I thought I might need to buy Flash 8 but that isn’t necessary
Here’ the tutorial. It also has the project files so you can try it out yourself.
