How to get quicker RAM preview?
Hi,
I have a machine with the following specification :
RAM : 2 GB, DDR 333
Video Memory : 64MB, well within the limits of recommended for AE7.
Processor: Intel pentium , 1.7Ghz.And I can’t still get a quicker RAM preview, it is awfully slow. Infact when I am trying to save it like a movie a it takes like an hour for a 1 min film.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Or if a different configuration is required for my machine.
Please suggest.

There are LOTS of factors….
But why are you RAM previewing to make a Movie (RENDER!)

processing time depends a lot on the composition and effects used. you can help things out by precomping portions of the main comp that you will not be changing, then pre-render those precomps, which will automaticly import the footage and replace the precomps with the rendered footage (it won’t delete the precomps, just replace them in the comps that use them). this will help speed things up as you work in the main comp.
you can also set the resoltion and magnification down just for previews… a setting of 50% magnification and half resolution will speed things up about 4 times for previews.
