Like the transition to this new software wasn’t demanding enough, I have this new major issue with audio. I import all my clips, about five hours worth, and Final Cut Pro X refuses to play audio with the clips. Music plays. The clips play the audio when I view them from my desktop, but FCPX refuses to play any audio with my imported clips.

The file type I am trying to import is “.dv”

I hope this is a minor setback, like a button I may have pressed.

    Please let me know,

    Sean

Sounds like the video was captured using iMovie or some other application that captures DV Stream. This format is not used in FCP, which works with QuickTime. DV Stream is a muxed format with the audio embedded in the video. The audio cannot be accessed in FCP unless it’s in separate tracks in QuickTime. You would need to reimport the media using FCP, or use Compressor or MPEG Streamclip to convert it to QuickTime.

    All the best,

    Tom
