You mean figuratively x-ray when someone gets electrocuted like in cartoons? 🙂

In 2D I would think a bit of inverting the image (negative image) with some greenish glow added to it. With some animation on these matched to sound FX for effect.

In a 3D app, you can match up a skeleton model (free on the net) to lay over the person, there are many X-ray shaders available for most apps that you can map to the skeleton, render out then back in AE keyframe the opacity and such to aniamte the reveal.

    Thanks Chris
yes, just like that. The solution you gave me is the one I’ve thought of (3d space). I thought there was a plug that you just apply to the “person” and boom, hes a skeleton (with the blue glow and everything). There’s a movie (which I don’t remember the name) in wich Arnold Swarzeneger walks behind a futuristic xray machine (like a glass wall) in an airport, and we see his “skeleton” and his gun, while he keeps on walking, and then the fight begins…. the movie is not new so maybe they did it in 3d.

    Thanks again for your response

If you haven’t got a 3d app, the other way is to do a bit of a hunt on around for a shot of a skull or skeleton (there are great free public domain image sites around, the best being stock.xchng). I do a lot of FX for kids shows, its surprising how many times cartoon electric shots pop up, …generally i use the 3D approach and sweeten the look with photoshop a bit (so likewise doctoring an image in photoshop, cutting out the background, etc, should work okay if you can find an image thats basically the same orientation).

    Goodluck!
