  crashing

  i just started learning AE and i was doing a project and the program crashed and it seems to keep crashing, before it closes it comes up with an error message that says ” after effects error: crash occured while invoking plug-in effect “tint”.” if you have a solution for how i can stop this please help me out

  i’m going to guess your using an inel-mac…

  whether you are or not, try disabling opengl in the after effects previews pref.

  there are about a dozen opengl accelerated effects in ae (see the help menu for a list… tint is one of them), and there is a bug when running ae on intel-macs and using opengl effects that causes a crash. you can, however, apply those effects to adjustment layers and ae will not crash. other opengl accelerated features, like motion blur and blending modes work fine, but you’re life will be easier if you just disable opengl previews… and you probably won’t even miss it.
