FCP X Clip offline after crash….
Posted by Mark Mallett on September 9, 2011 at 11:36 pmAfter a crash, some clips turned red indicating that they were offline. However, I can’t find a way to reconnect the clip.
Does anyone know the secret?

September 9, 2011 at 11:38 pmWell, that’s interesting. After posting this, I dragged the pertinent clip from the browser to “Replace” what was there (meaning that I would lose what I did to it effects, etc.) But then I clicked Undo after that, and lo and behold, the clip reconnected.
It works… but you’d think there’s a better way.

As long as it’s the same clip you originally ingested and hasn’t been altered since, it works. X is pretty smart about it, just needs a kick sometimes.
