  • HELP! with this effect

I have been trying to find out how to do this effect for some time now. You can see it here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utipRqbJcO0

    At Minutes – 1:46-1:48

It is used quite often in music videos. Seems to be more often in country videos.

The effect itself seems to be like a “Film burn/flash dissolve”

Is there a plug-in? Please help! Thanks in advance. -Adam

That is not exactly the effect I am looking for. But thanks though. The effect I am trying to acheive is more of a subtle orange/red flash/burn.

To me it looks like they used a orange and yellow layer to make the color. Set the opacity of the yellow layer around 40 or so (play around with it). Then it looks like they used a linear wipe, cut the layer in half and fluctuated with the feather. When the transition comes, almost like the feather reaches out and pulls the scene to the next. Remember to add glow and turn it up when time for transition happends.

you can do those but from experience its a big pain. i know for a fact these guys didnt use a bunch of masks to create this effect. as a rollerblader ive seen all of their dvds. i was looking for this effect also. you have to buy stock footage to acheive this. i found a site that has stock footage to acheceive this effect. itll cost you $12 though.
