This transition was handled beautifully. Hard to believe FCPX came from the same company…

    Hi
    So what’s happened since then?
    Steve’s health problems are what’s happened. 🙁

    So now he’s delegating.
At the moment his focus is directed, like the Eye of Mordor, on the Cloud and his new mothership headquarters building….
The orc-masters are handling this sort of routine roll-out* 🙁

    An example (possibly):
When Steve was away awaiting his liver transplant in early 2009 Apple rolled out the Nehalem Mac Pro line.
The 2008 Mac Pros were excellent value for money – competetive with any Windows PC manufacturer’s product.
The 2009 Nehalem quad (and the 2010) carried an ‘Apple Tax’ of about $1000 compared to other similar computers.
Now obviously Steve wasn’t going to interfere in such a lucrative pricing strategy.
But I think it shows that the new managers ‘think different’ in many ways from the Jobs-centric Apple of old 🙁

    * The FCP X roll-out: as David Pogue writes, “Apple blew it”. 🙁

this so called “roll out” is a debacle of epic proportions. whats saving apples stock right now is that its not a widely used app or piece of hardware.
Should it have been a new “screwed up” ipod, the investment community/wall street would have trashed the company because they would calmly say , Steve is not around because of illness so there is no one to lead, and there fore what is apples future with such bad management decisions…..
