How do I render anamorphic NTSC 16:9 ration in AE?
Hi,
I’ve just been asked to render a piece anamorphic NTSC 16:9 ratio in Afterr Effects. I understand how to set the pixel aspect ration to anamorphic. But which setting do I use for the NTSC preset?

My client it telling me that his footage is full screen at 486, does that make this D1?

Hi Dave,
Ok, so I already have everything already laid out in a comp and animating. When I change the comp settings to 960x 540 with square pixels and I scale layer to fit comp it REALLY distorts the image, so much that I can’t recognize what it is. When I then make a new comp and set it NTCS d1 720×486 and scale the layer it doesn’t change much.
Is there a way to fix this without have to reanimate all the layers?

Hi Dave,
Yes it is…the original specs I got were: 16:9 anamorphic NTSC 486 lines, full screen render into a quicktime to be placed in FCP

Hey Dave,
One last question….If I set set my comp’s settings to NTSC D1, isn’t that a 4:3 ratio instead of 16:9?
