  FCP & FCP X on same machine

  Many are saying that you can run both together but who is still going to install/run them on different drives/partitions?? And why?

  you can run them concurrently on the same system/partition.

  I will be using X for simple projects and 7.x for everything else.

  Yes I know you can I’ve seen the reports but I was asking because it might be safe to run on a separate drive incase there is some kind of conflict that might occur thats why I asked.

  no conflict, they both run fine, except for the aja capture/output beta.

  Apparently after the FCPX install, it’s necessary to launch and then quit Motion 4 (that’s the old 2009 Motion, NOT the new one) BEFORE launching any of the other old Studio apps.
