    Hello
I’m new to AE and I don’t even know if I’m using the correct lingo in the subject.

I saw a video with two small frame videos playing side by side of each other at the same time and another saturated with a hint of blue video playing in the background (behind these two smaller videos). One big frame and two smaller frames side by side on one screen.
What is that called and does anyone know how to do that?
    Thanks
    Ish

Three layers, stacked like this in the timeline:

    small #1
    small #2
    Big Background Video

Drag 1 and 2 to where you want them.

Adjust the color of Big Background with, your choice:

    Effect>Adjust>Hue Saturation
    Adjust>Levels (Individual Controls)
    Adjust> Color Balance

or add a Colored Solid (Ctrl Y) pick the blue you want, put the layer just above the Big Background layer and drop it Opacity (T) to 10-30%, play with modes on that layer, clcik the modes/switches, then Shift + to cycle through the modes (like PhotoShop Modes).

I’m a Color Hack, so there are probaly better ways. You should also click on Andrew Kramer’s head at the top and scroll down to “After Effects 101”, a great tut to get a feel for AE.
