I tethered my camera to a PC it took forever to come up. I was assuming that the laptop was just old. I used the CD that came with my camera with the program for tethering. I was told that would happen even with an upgraded PC laptop, told to get a mac. Question is….is this true? To tether and have instant photo will only work with a mac, any PC laptop will be very slow for tethering. Next question, using the CD with tethering program that came with the camera good enough or is there a better one?

Have you tried going to Canon’s website and downloading the latest versions of their software. The CD is old software from day one when it ships.
